Sirjan rugs, also known as Sirjan Kilims or Sirjan Gabbeh rugs, originate from the city of Sirjan in the Kerman province of southeastern Iran. These rugs are highly regarded for their unique designs, fine craftsmanship, and cultural significance.
\n
\nSirjan rugs are often characterized by their simplicity and bold geometric patterns. They typically feature abstract motifs, tribal symbols, and vibrant colors, reflecting the nomadic lifestyle and artistic traditions of the local communities.
\n
\nOne distinguishing feature of Sirjan rugs is their construction. Unlike traditional Persian rugs, Sirjan rugs are flat-woven or pile-less, using techniques such as kilim or gabbeh weaving. This results in a different texture and aesthetic compared to knotted rugs, with a focus on bold colors and minimalistic designs.
