The Tabriz Persian Wool Rug is a masterful piece of craftsmanship that originates from the historic rug-making city of Tabriz. Known for its durability, intricate patterns, and luxurious silk base, this Naqsha Design rug is the perfect addition to any home. Hand-knotted using natural dyes, this rug reflects the rich cultural heritage of Persian rug weaving.
Origin
Tabriz, which is located in the northwest, is Iran's second-oldest city. Moreover, it has been at the center of the rug-making world for hundreds, perhaps even thousands of years. Due to the sheer size of the rug industry in Tabriz, the design and quality vary greatly. In fact, it is one of the oldest rug-weaving centers and offers a huge diversity of carpet types. For example, Tabriz has one of the most diverse displays of designs, ranging from medallions, Herati/Mahi, Naqsha (such as this rug), to figural, pictorial, and even 3D-shaped rugs.
